All taxis within the Borough of Stafford are in white colour except the London Taxi, which can be in any colour.
Our taxis can be recognised very easily as each taxi has an illuminated taxi sign on the roof top of each car. Also each taxi has front and back taxi plate, which can be seen here. The taxi plate shows the details about the vehicle along with expiry date.
The licensed taxis (only) can be hailed within the Borough of Stafford. This does not apply to the private hire as private hire has to be pre booked.

Lost Property
If we have found an item in taxis, this is responsibility of a taxi driver to keep it for short period of time if no contact can be made with customer, this has to be handed in to the local police station where a receipt will be given to taxi driver as a proof that the item has been handed in. If you have lost an item please contact the taxi driver on a taxi rank. Most taxi drivers operate independently and do not work for any firms, if you need to get in touch, please visit them on a taxi rank.
Taxi Meter
All taxis within the Borough of Stafford have a taxi meter fitted in each vehicle. This has to commence of the start of each journey and customer should only pay what is shown on the taxi meter.
